The Virginia class nuclear powered cruiser was originally classified as guided missile frigate, but was later changed to guided missile cruiser; CGN. The Virginia differs in design from the California class in which more effort has been put into the air defense measures, electronics and ASW system. Although smaller it is a much-improved cruiser. |
